生分解性繊維リボンとは、生分解繊維を主原料としたリボンです。

生分解性繊維とは、自然界に存在する微生物が分泌する酵素によって分解される繊維のことを言います。
土に埋めると生分解して最終的には、二酸化炭素と水になり、これが原料である植物に吸収される為、地球にやさしい繊維なのです。

天然繊維のコットン、麻（リネン）、ウール、シルクは、生分解性が良く、化学繊維でも木材パルプやコットンリンターを材料とするアセテート、レーヨン、キュプラなども生分解性が優れています。ポリエステル等の化学繊維に比べ、少ない燃焼カロリーで処分でき、有害ガスの発生もありません。

Why is it environmental friendly?
When these materials biodegrade under a landfill, they break down to CO2 and water and are eventually absorbed by plants. Both Natural fibers (cotton, linen, wool, silk) and Chemical fibers (acetate, rayon, cupro) biodegrade easily.

These materials can be incinerated in lower burning calories than polyester and therefore do not generate a toxic gas.
