オーガニックコットンとは

オーガニックコットンとは、遺伝子組み換えを行っておらず、3年以上農薬や化学肥料を使っていない農地で有機栽培されたコットンのことです。
一般的な綿花の栽培には、防カビ剤・殺菌剤・除草剤・殺虫剤・落葉剤など、多くの化学肥料や農薬が使用されており、環境や生産に関わる人々に負荷を与えているのが現状です。
オーガニックコットンを消費することは、「フェアートレード」にも貢献しています。

「フェアートレード」とは
発展途上国の農産物や雑貨などを適正な価格で継続的に輸入、消費する取り組み。低賃金を強いられる傾向のある途上国で、手仕事やオーガニック農法など雇用を創出し、途上国の貧困解消や経済的自立を促すねらいがあります。 環境に優しい商品を求める「グリーン・コンシューマー」も増え、フェアートレードの考え方も広がっています。

オーガニックコットンリボン・コードについて

当社では、オーガニックコットン素材を使用したリボンやコードの製造販売にも2006年頃からいち早く取り組んでまいりました。
現在では、織り・色・サイズのバリエーションにおいて、230アイテム以上を展開しています。
使用している糸は、大正紡績株式会社のGOTS（Global Organic Textile Standard）認証を受けたオーガニックコットンです。
このように、環境に配慮した素材を選定し、持続可能なものづくりを大切にしています。

製品へのこだわり

弊社では、オーガニックコットンリボンやコードの商品に管理コードのシールを貼付しております。
また、弊社は日本オーガニックコットン協会（JOCA）の会員として、
素材の選定から製品づくりに至るまで、環境に配慮した製品開発を今後も続けてまいります。

Organic cotton does not contain genetically modified plants, that is, it is grown on the farm without the use of any synthetic agricultural chemicals for more than three years.
Regular cotton cultivation uses large amounts of chemical fertilizers and chemicals such as fungicides, fungicides, herbicides, insecticides, and defoliants. It also affects the environment and farmers.
Consuming organic cotton also contributes to “Fair Trade“.

What is Fair Trade?

It’s an initiative to continuously import and consume agricultural products and miscellaneous goods from developing countries at fair prices.
The aim is to create jobs through manual labor and organic farming in developing countries, where people tend to be forced to pay low wages it helps to alleviate poverty and encourage economic independence in developing countries.
The number of “green consumers” who seek environmentally friendly products is increasing, and the concept of fair trade is also spreading.

We have commercialized approximately 230 items of organic cotton ribbons and strings in a variety of colors, widths, and patterns. The management code sticker is affixed to the product.

Cotton cultivation record

2009年、工場の周りで、綿花栽培をしてみました。コットンがどのように育つのか非常に興味がありました。たくさんのかわいいコットンボールを収穫することができました。

We were very interested in how cotton grows, so in 2009 we tried growing cotton around our factory. We were able to harvest a lot of cute cotton balls.

東京の「南青山291」にて、オーガニックコットンリボンとコットンボールを使ったリース作りのレッスンをしました。会場は、たくさんのお客様で賑わいました。

At Minami Aoyama 291 in Tokyo, we gave a lesson on making wreaths using organic cotton ribbons and cotton balls. It was crowded with many customers.
